Continuation from Day 6: Avant-Garde Makeup Look
Lastly is the bridal look. Today is Day 7 and the last day of our actual classes. Tomorrow, Day 8, will be our graduation day.
This is one look that every makeup artist anywhere in the world must master. I thought it's gonna be easy, but it's not. The bridal look is both relaxed and meticulous.
My model has a very interesting name --- Marimar. She's in second year high school and I find her very cute. She has a round face and combination skin. I was met with very few problems while working on her, just a few skin discolorations and old scars, but every thing else was fine. Plus I love her very expressive and bright eyes. Here she is.
Marimar Before Makeup |
For bridal makeup, there are a few important things to take note of. First, the over-all look should not be heavy, but instead, the bride must look fresh and radiant. Black eyeliners must be avoided as this will make the eyes appear too defined and emphasized. Moreover, dark eyeliners will tend to smudge and stain the skin around the eyes, especially if the bride sheds some tears during her wedding day. Best options are browns and golds.
MAKEUP TIP: If the bride tends to sweat a lot, after applying the face primer, mist on some facial setting spray before applying foundation. This will seal the makeup better and make it more durable from sweat. For the eyes, use matte or satin colors, preferably neutral shades. Avoid shimmery or glittery shades because this will not register well on photos. Also, make sure that the eyeliner is very fine, just enough to accentuate the eyes. The lips must not be too bright or too bold, peaches and pinks are good choices for lip color. Lipstick must be durable so a second coating is necessary. Lip gloss must be avoided too.
This is how Marimar looked after makeup.
